In a cluttered news landscape dominated by men emerges India's only newspaper run by Dalit women. Chief Reporter Meera and her journalists break traditions, redefining what it means to be powerful.

Armed with smartphones, courage and conviction the women investigate the incompetence of the local police force, listen to and stand by victims of caste and gender violence, and challenge long-standing, harmful practices that lead to injustice and intimidation.

The directors will be interviewed by Northern Irish journalist Amanda Ferguson, which will be available online during the festival. Winner of the World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award: Impact for Change at Sundance 2021.

"The most inspiring journalism movie - maybe ever” - The Washington Post
