AMANDA FERGUSON in Belfast
Friday, April 2, 2021
Hello all. I hope you are having a fab Good Friday.
Over the last year or so I have been taking part in a Social Change Initiative (SCI) leadership programme with a diverse range of colleagues. Covid disrupted things but we adapted and found creative ways to learn.
I am very excited to now be undertaking an SCI fellowship on media representation.
Over the coming months I will be examining media representation in the north of Ireland/Northern Ireland and beyond, and the role of women in the media and on the media.
Who are we? How are we doing? Who has power? Who do we hear from? Where are the women? Marginalised voices. Why does an imbalance exist? What can we do to improve matters? And so on.
CAN YOU ASSIST?
I am looking for data and information on the current media landscape.
I would also like to invite colleagues, NUJ activists, academics, NGOs, community groups, other interested parties and individuals to contact me.
I will be conducting audio and video interviews, doing local and international research, and producing online and other resources on this topic.
You can use the contact form on this website http://amanda.ie/contact with any useful information, resources, thoughts, or brights ideas about what I should be asking, who I should be interviewing etc.
Maybe I should be interviewing you or you know the very man or woman I should be speaking to.
Wish me luck!
